Dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, the Se Cathdral Church is believed to be one of the largest churches in Asia. The structure was built in the 16th century during the Portuguese rule and is renowned for its flawless blend of Portuguese, Tuscan and Corinthian architectural styles. A series of steps leads to the stunning patio. The entire structure is an amazing 250 feet long and over 180 feet wide. A tower in front of the structure stands at an impressive height of 120 feet.
There were two towers originally but the second tower was destroyed in the 18th century. The chapel is renowned for its massive bells including the Golden bell, which is believed to be one of the largest in Goa. Antique paintings displayed on both sides of the inside depict scenes from the life of St. Catherine.
According to legend, it was here that a vision of Christ appeared in the year 1919. The cross, which had the vision, is believed to be growing with each passing day.

State transport buses operate regular to and fro services between Panaji and Old Goa. You can also choose to hire a pre-paid taxi to reach the church.
