Life is a party in Goa. From open festivities on the beach to those that take place in its numerous discos and nightclubs, there is never a dull moment here. Rave parties are one of Goa’s major tourist attractions and attended by both tourists and locals in large numbers.
Rave parties in Goa started back in the 1960s when hippies started arriving here. The beaches of Goa were not as much visited by the tourists back then and served as a perfect destination for the hippies to enjoy. The rave parties have undergone a lot of change since then and now involve trance music, which is played through the night.
Rave parties take place at different locations across Goa around the time of Christmas and New Year and involve lots of music, dance and fun.
Anjuna Beach is one of the hottest points for such parties where people start gathering after sunset and party till midnight. The numerous bars and nightclubs in the area come abuzz with the sound of loud music and people dance and drink to make the most of the Goan nightlife.
There are a few clubs around Anjuna and the Vagator areas that are known for their night long parties. The trance parties are also infamous for its drug scene but do not be lured into having drugs as these are illegal and can get you into trouble.
Besides the beaches and the numerous pubs and discos situated around the region there are a few places that you should head to if looking to check out the nightlife of Goa. Some of these places include Club Tito’s on the Baga Beach, Club Extreme on Miramar Road in Panaji, Club Cabana on top of the Arpora Hills and Club Antoos situated on the Calangute Beach.
