Visa for Goa

Goa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. The region is a holidaymakers paradise with its sun kissed beaches, spellbinding natural beauty, colorful festivals and carnivals as well as plenty of historical monuments.

For a foreign traveler to visit India, the essential requirements are a valid passport and a Visa. The Visa has to be applied in a specified format along with a passport that is valid for altleast six months. Other requisites include the visa fee, supporting documents as mentioned in the application form and recent passport size photographs.

Applying for Indian Visa
It is advisable to apply for your visa well in advance rather than wait for the last moment. Once obtained, a visa is valid for six months. There are three major ways to apply for an Indian visa i.e. in person, through the internet and by post. Applying online is a convenient way for which you can visit the Indian High Commissionís website.

Applying in person requires you to fix an appointment at the India visa application centre and submit your application over the counter. Taking the services of an authorized agent can save you a lot of time, especially when applying during the peak season. It is recommended that you reach the application centre as early as possible to ensure same day service.

Another option is to apply through an authorized agent such as the Visa Company, which will cost you a little more but at the same time save a lot of precious time. For more information on the same, read the guidelines on the companyís website.

Points to Remember
It is advisable to use the postal service if you plan to visit India more than a month from the time of application while an agency is the most ideal means to get a visa if the visit is planned in another 2-3 weeks. However, you should apply in person if the departure is less than 2 weeks away.
